Our Editorial Philosophy
This site exists because gear matters. Whether you’re tracking a vocal, mixing a drum bus, or hunting for the right compressor plugin, you need information you can trust. Ramesh Music operates independently with a single editorial directive: tell the truth about what works in the studio. We do not accept payment for positive coverage. We do not soften criticism to maintain advertiser relationships. Every review, guide, and comparison we publish reflects the real-world experience of engineers who spend their days behind a console, not a press release.
How We Review Gear & Software
Every piece of gear or software we evaluate goes through a structured, hands-on testing process. We don’t rely on spec sheets or manufacturer claims. Here’s what that looks like in practice:

- Real-world session testing â Every product is used in active recording, mixing, or production sessions. We test in the conditions you’d actually work in, not a lab.
- Comparative benchmarks â New tools are compared against industry-standard equivalents. If a microphone claims to rival a U87, we A/B them on the same source.
- Multiple engineer perspectives â Where possible, more than one set of ears weighs in. Different genres and workflows reveal different strengths and weaknesses.
- Long-term use â Quick impressions can be misleading. We spend weeks, sometimes months, with hardware and software before publishing a verdict.
- Honest negatives â Every review includes what doesn’t work. Noise floor, build quality quirks, plugin CPU spikes, bad GUI designâif it’s a problem in the studio, we say so.
Editorial Independence & Affiliate Disclosure
Ramesh Music participates in affiliate programs, including the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. This means we may earn a small commission if you purchase through a link on this site. That commission does not influence our editorial decisions. Here are the rules we live by:
- No manufacturer pays for coverage. Period.
- Affiliate links are placed after a review is written, not before.
- Sponsored content is clearly and prominently labeled as such.
- We follow FTC guidelines for endorsements and disclosures.
If a product doesn’t hold up in the studio, we will tell youâregardless of affiliate potential. Your mix deserves better than a paid recommendation.

Corrections & Feedback
We get things wrong sometimes. Specs change. Firmware updates break features. We miss a detail. When that happens, we correct the record quickly and transparently. If you spot an error in any article or have a perspective we should consider, reach out directly. Email us at corrections [at] rameshmusic [dot] com. We read every message and will address verified issues with a clear update notice on the affected page.
